MAS Faculty member, Raquel Rubio Goldsmith (upper right hand side) will be recognized at The MOCA Local Genius Awards Gala in April. The event honors visionary and innovative Tucsonans whose activities have a global impact, and whose talents have been internationally recognized.  Raquel is one of four local activists that includes Guadalupe Castillo, Margo Cowen, and Isabel Garcia, “Las Mujeres de Manzo,” who in the 1970s organized the Manzo Area Council, a war on poverty program created by President Johnson.
