  • PhD candidate Cléa Fortuné is a Fulbright scholar in American Studies at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, in Paris. She will present her research “Consequences of border security measures on the border residents of Douglas, AZ.” She will discuss the questions: How do border residents react and respond to the different measures implemented at the border? In what ways do they affect the local residents’ daily practices?
  • Doctoral candidate Andrea Sánchez is a CONACyT scholar in the Program of Law at National Autonomous University of Mexico, UNAM. She will present her research “Two Mexicans exiled in the United States in the 1970s.” She will explore the journey of two activists in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México who were exiled in the United States during a period of history known in Mexico as Dirty War.
